Neymar scandal takes electoral centre-stage.

-Marca's exclusive about the deal struck between Santos and Barcelona to pay damages to DIS - should it be necessary - has not gone unnoticed by Barcelona's presidential candidates.
Those candidates, some more than others, have expressed their displeasure at how the previous regime went about its business.
The most vocal of the candidates has been Jordi Farré, as he was about other events ahead of the presidential campaign, like Deulofeu's sale to Everton. He thinks that the mere existence of that pact points to Barça knowing full well what they were doing.
"If they signed off on paying 50% of those damages it's because they were expecting them. It's just another clear example that they knew they were doing wrong", he said.
Joan Laporta was much more prudent on the matter. The former president "it would be wrong for the club to pay out any more money. This has obviously been done with very little transparency".
Toni Freixa was also critical. Those close to him insist that "as a board member, the first thing they heard of this contract was MARCA reporting on it. It's just another example of the management model used by Bartomeu and Rosell".
Meanwhile, Benedito said that "the entire Neymar deal was done without the minimal standards expected at a club like Barça. Now we're paying the consequences, some of which are dramatic".
