A CAR salesman was left stranded after a thief stole a top of the range car while out on a test drive.Derbyshire Police said that the offender turned up at a showroom in Overseal and asked to take the Audi RS6 out for a drive.
He got as far a nearby lay-by on the A444 and got out so the two of them could swap over.
As he did so the thief moved over to the driver's seat and sped off leaving the worker.

The offence took place at 4.20pm yesterday and the car was carrying trace plates.
The offender was Asian, 6ft tall and stocky.
He was wearing a black leather jacket, a black shirt and jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 521 of July 14.
